EOGAN conference 2014
Rotterdam, 18-21 June 2014
We are pleased to announce the 5th conference of the European Oil and Gas Archives Network will be held at the Maritime Museum, Rotterdam, from 18 – 21 June 2014.
EOGAN is a network for people working to preserve and promote the use of oil and gas-related records - people from oil and gas archives, business archives related to oil and gas, museums with an interest in energy and academics working on topics related to oil and gas. The EOGAN conference serves as a platform where these three disciplines – business archives, museums, universities - can meet and exchange ideas in an informal manner. The 2014 Rotterdam meeting is entitled “Building Histories” and will consist of three main themes related to the three disciplines. Papers are asked on:
A. Accessibility of Archive Catalogues
B. The material and cultural history of oil and gas
C. Researching and writing the history of Oil & Gas
The conference is open to persons who want to contribute thoughts and share their ideas about these topics. There will be plenty of time for discussion: after all EOGAN is a network! The conference language will be English.
We invite you to submit papers on the topics mentioned above. They can be interpreted broadly and we welcome diverse papers within the field. Please submit your paper, or an abstract of 200-250 words and a working title to w.heijveld@maritiemmuseum.nl by 15 February 2014.
